As part of an ongoing operation targeting the illegal sale and supply of controlled drugs in the West Dublin area, Gardaí have seized ecstasy tablets and prescribed drugs with an estimated value of €229,000 pending analysis.
Gardaí from the Lucan/Ronanstown Drugs Unit carried out a planned search of a premises in the Balgaddy area of Clondalkin yesterday evening, Monday 10th August 2015 at approximately 8.20pm. Ecstasy tablets with a value of €225,000 and prescription drugs, €4,000 were seized during this search.
A man, early 40's, was arrested at scene and is currently detained at Ronanstown Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
These operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks. Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities. Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality.
