Gardaí investigating the fatal shooting incident which occurred in the Greenhills area, Athy, Co Kildare on Friday 20th August 2015 shortly after 5pm have arrested two persons.
A female aged in her 30's has been arrested by Gardaí following a fatal shooting in Athy on the 21st August 2015. She was arrested yesterday afternoon (24/8/2015) in Athy and is currently detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 at Newbridge Garda Station.
Gardaí are continuing to detain two males, aged in their 40s and teens, at Kildare and Naas Garda Stations as part of the investigation. The third male arrested (also in his teens) was released without charge from Leixlip Garda Station last night (24/8/2015).
The investigation is ongoing and further updates will follow.

One male youth (early teens) was arrested in the afternoon of Saturday, 22nd August, 2015 and brought to Leixlip Garda Station and detained under Section 50, Criminal Justice Act, 2007. A second male youth (late teens) was arrested yesterday evening, Saturday 22nd August, and taken to Naas Garda Station and detained under Section 50, Criminal Justice Act, 2007.
The man arrested on Friday evening remains in custody in Kildare Garda Station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.
There are now currently three persons detained in relation to this investigation.
