Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a single vehicle fatal traffic collision in Co. Mayo on the 23rd August 2015.
At approximately 10.30pm a 19-year-old man was seriously injured when the car he was driving struck a wall. The incident occurred on the N84 at Carrowmore, near Ballinrobe. He was pronounced dead at the scene and the local Coroner was notified. The body of the deceased was removed to Mayo General Hospital for a post-mortem examination. A passenger in the car, a man in his late teens, was taken by ambulance to Mayo General Hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
The road is closed to traffic and diversions are in place. Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are currently examining the scene.
