Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the N81 in townland of Poulaphuca, Blessington, Wicklow last night, Wednesday 12th August, 2015 at approximately 9.15p.m.
A male motorcyclist, 33 years, was fatally injured when he and a second motorcyclist collided with a jeep. He was pronounced dead at scene and his body was removed to Naas General Hospital where a post mortem will take place. The second male motorcyclist, 49 years, was also removed to Naas General Hospital with serious injuries. The female driver of the jeep (61 years) was taken to Tallaght Hospital with minor injuries.
The scene has been preserved and Garda Forensic Collision Investigators will carry out an investigation of the area. Diversions are in place.
