Gardaí are investigating a single vehicle road traffic collision which occurred on the M6 motorway, Westbound at Ballymabilla, Loughrea, County Galway on Saturday 18th April 2015 at approximately 6.20pm.
The car, a red Saab, appeared to lose control while traveling Westbound on the M6 motorway approximately 2km west of the Cappataggle Toll Plaza. The car veered across the motorway colliding with the central median barrier.
The four occupants of the car, two women, mid 60's, and two men, late 60’s, were taken to University College Hospital Galway. Three of the occupants suffered minor injuries. One of the women was later transferred to the Mater Hospital, Dublin with serious injuries.
Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who was traveling along the M6 motorway at Ballymabilla between 6.10pm and 6.30pm Saturday 18th April 2015 to contact them at Loughrea Garda Station on 091 842870, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
