Gardaí in Castlebar are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occured on the Main N5 in the townland of Knockanour, Castlebar, Co. Mayo this evening Saturday 11th April, 2015 shortly before 7.30p.m.
The driver and sole occupant of the car, a man in his 30s, was seriously injured when his car hit a fence. He was removed to Mayo General Hospital but died later this evening. The road at the scene is closed to facilitate a technical examination by Garda forensic collision investigators and local diversions are in place.
