As part of an intelligence-led operation into the illegal sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Dublin West area, Gardaí from the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau seized cocaine with an estimated value of €500,000, pending analysis.
The seizure was made following the stop and search of a vehicle in Ballyfermot and a follow up search of a premises in the Dublin 20 area this afternoon, Thursday 9th April 2015.
Two men, aged 34 and 55 years, were arrested and are currently detained at Ballyfermot Garda Station.
These operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks. Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities. Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality.
