A female received a gunshot wound to the upper thigh during this incident.
She has been removed to Beaumont Hospital where she is being treated for her injuries.

Gardaí in Balbriggan Co Dublin are investigating a fatal shooting incident which occurred on Clonard Street, Balbriggan shortly after 9am this morning (25/9/14).
A male believed to be in his mid 30’s was shot at the above location.
The scene is preserved pending a Garda technical examination. The office of the State Pathologists office has been notified.
Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Balbriggan Garda Station on 01-802 0510, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
