Gardaí in Carlow are appealing for witnesses following a fatal traffic collision on the 19th September 2014.
At approximately 4pm a male aged in his 40s was fatally injured when the car he was travelling in collided with a 4x4 vehicle on the N80 at Kilnock, Ballon, Co. Carlow. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was removed to Waterford Regional Hospital where a post-mortem examination will be carried out. The Coroner has been notified. Two other occupants of the car, both male and aged in their 20s and 40s, were taken by ambulance to St Luke’s General Hospital, Kilkenny. The occupants of the second vehicle, a male and a female aged in their 60s, were also taken by ambulance to Kilkenny Hospital.
The road is closed and Garda forensic collision investigators are at the scene. Local traffic diversions are in place.
