Gardaí at Birr are appealing for witnesses to a single vehicle road traffic collision in Co. Offaly on the 24th September 2014.
At approximately 9.30am a male aged in his early 80's was fatally injured when his car struck a ditch on the R439, Banagher to Birr road, at an area known locally as Taylor's Cross. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and removed to the mortuary at Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore. The road is closed to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
