Drugs seizure in Rathkenny, Meath on the 18/9/14

As part of an on-going intelligence-led operation targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in North East Leinster, Gardaí from the Organised Crime Unit, National Bureau of Criminal Investigations, seized heroin, tablets, cannabis herb and resin with an approximate value of €700,000, (pending analysis).

On Thursday 18th September 2014 at approximately 3.30pm Gardaí arrested three men, 31, 35 & 44 years, at Rathkenny, County Meath, following a planned operation. A quantity of cannabis herb was recovered at scene. Quantities of heroin, tablets and cannabis herb/resin have been seized in connected follow-up searches. A large sum of cash was also seized.     
 

The arrested men are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking), Act, 1996 at Kells and Navan Garda Stations.
 

Investigations by Garda Organised Crime Unit and the Garda National Drugs Unit are ongoing.
