Garda/Go Safe Operation Slow Down - 24/10/14

As part of the ongoing National Traffic "Slow Down" Day, Gardaí and Go Safe have in the first 3 and a half hours of Operation Slowdown (07.00 to 10.30), have checked 20,227 vehicles and detected 96 motorists speeding.

This equates to a compliance rate of 99.5% or (1 in every 200 vehicles checked were speeding.

 In the last hour we detected:

•             A vehicle travelling at 81km/h  in an 50 km/h zone on the N80 Tullow Road Carlow
•            A vehicle travelling at 114 km/h  in an 80 km/h zone on the N21  at Rathkeale Limerick.
