Gardaí have seized a quantity of drugs and smartphones and arrested 3 men following an operation in Dublin city centre yesterday afternoon, 16th October 2014.
As part of an ongoing operation Gardaí from the Community Policing Unit at Store Street Garda Station supported by members from the local Detective Units and Crime Prevention Units searched two premises on Oriel Street, Dublin 1 and seized a quantity of cannabis, cocaine, and heroin with an estimated street value of €30,000 (subject to analysis). During the searches, 70 smartphones were also seized with an estimated value of €15,000.
Three men aged 33, 30 and 24 years were arrested at the scenes and the 30 year old man was later released without charge. The men aged 33 and 24 years are currently being detained at Store Street Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996. They can be detained for up to 7 days.
