Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal traffic collision in Waterford on the 18th November 2014.
At approximately 10.10am a 2-year-old girl was seriously injured when she was struck by a lorry on Manor Street in Waterford city. The mother of the child (30) sustained minor injuries during the incident. They were both removed by ambulance to University Hospital Waterford. The young girl was pronounced dead a short time later.
The road is currently closed to traffic and Garda forensic collision investigators are examining the scene. The coroner has been notified. Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
