Gardai in Adare are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N20 at Ballynabanouge, Croom at approximately 7.15pm last night.
An 82 year old female pedestrian was fatally injured when she was struck by a car as she crossed the road. She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was removed to Limerick Regional Hospital. The driver of the car was uninjured.
The road was closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and has since reopened.
