Two males are expected to appear before a sitting of the Special Criminal Court (C.C.J.) at 3pm this afternoon (17/11/2014) charged in connection with this investigation.

As part of ongoing investigations into the activities of dissident republicans in the Dublin area gardai have arrested a male and recovered 5 firearms.
At approximately 1.40pm this afternoon gardai from the Special Detective Unit supported by the Emergency Response Unit carried out a planned search of a house in Church Road, East Wall, Dublin.
During the search 4 handguns, 1 shotgun (all pending technical examination) and ammunition were discovered.
A male in his late 50’s was arrested at the scene and is currently detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Mountjoy Garda Station.
