Gardaí in Sligo are investigating a serious assault which took place in Sligo at approximately 10am on the 31st May 2014.
A 34 year old male was discovered with serious stab wounds on Rockwood Parade.
He was removed to Sligo Regional Hospital where his condition is described as critical. He was later airlifted to UCHG.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination.
Gardai wish to appeal for witnesses who were in the Rockwood Parade area this morning before 11am or to anyone who can assist with this investigation to contact Sligo Garda Station on 071-9157000, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
