Man Arrested following Robbery of 3 youths at Shannon Co Clare 17th May 2014

Gardaí at Shannon arrested an 18yr old male following the robbery of 3 male youths at Drumgeely, Shannon on the 17th May 2014.

The incident occured at 7.30pm when the male, armed with a knife, threatened the youths and stole a small amount of cash from them. No-one was injured in the incident.


The 18yr old was arrested a short time later in the area. A knife and cash was also recovered. He was detained under Section 4 Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Shannon Garda Station and released later without charge. A file is being prepared for the DPP.
