Gardaí have arrested a man and seized a quantity of illegal drugs in searches in Cork City.
Shortly after 7pm on Wednesday, the 21st May 2014 Gardaí searched an apartment on High Street and during the course of the search they discovered a quantity of Cannabis Herb, with an estimated street value of €1600, and prescription drugs valued at €1000 and a quantity of cash. A man in his 20's was arrested at the scene and he is detained at Bridewell Garda Station, under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
In a follow up search at Princes Street Gardaí discovered a quantity of prescription drugs valued at close to €14,000. The man remains in custody and a Garda investigation is ongoing.
