Gardai in Naas, Co Kildare are investigating the death of a 20yr male on the 16th May 2014 following an altercation with another male.
The incident occurred at approximately 10.20pm at Harbour View, Naas when a number of youths became involved in an altercation with another male. During the altercation a 20yr old male received head injuries, when the Gardai arrived to the scene the male was unconscious and the Gardai administered first aid until an ambulance arrived. The male was taken to Naas Hospital and pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
A male 42years was arrested at scene and is being detained at Naas Garda station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination. The office of the State Pathologist has also been notified with a post mortem due at a later stage today.
