Theft of manhole covers two males arrested Ennis 5th March 2014

Gardaí at Ennis, investigating the theft of manhole covers in the locality, arrested two males, 17 & 19 years, this afternoon, 5th march 2014. They are detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Ennis Garda Station.

In total 15 manhole covers were recovered following the search of a vehicle at Monreagh Tubber, County Clare.
 
The theft/removal of manhole covers is potentially lethal to road users and has been highlighted by An Garda Síochána and the Road Safety Authority.
