Gardaí are investigating an incident which occurred outside the Department of Justice, Saint Stephen's Green, Dublin 2, this evening, Monday 31st March 2014 at approximately 6.45pm.
The incident occurred following a protest which commenced at 6pm from O'Connell Street and proceeded to the Department of Justice.
Five people were arrested for public order and related offences following the disturbance and they were brought to Pearse Street Garda Station.
The five arrested persons were charged and released from Garda custody. They are due to appear before District Court 3, Criminal Courts of Justice, on Wednesday, 23rd April 2014 at 10.30am.
One member of An Garda Síochána received minor injuries. The scene was preserved and investigations are ongoing.
