Gardaí have arrested a man in his 30’s in connection with a serious assault which occurred in a public house on Castletown Road, Dundalk, between 9 and 10:30 pm on Friday 28th February 2014.
The man was arrested in the Dundalk area this afternoon, 5th march 2014. He is detained at Dundalk Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
A man in his 60’s received serious head injuries following the assault. He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda. The injured male remains in a critical condition at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.
Investigating Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the Castletown Road area between 8:30pm and 12 midnight on Friday (28/2/14) or who may have information to contact Dundalk Garda Station.
