Gardaí at Mallow are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the Lisgriffen Road, at Drumdowney(approx 2km from Ashgrove Cross), Mallow, on Thursday 13th March 2014 at approximately 4.10pm.
The driver a male, 17 years, was fatally injured when the vehicle he was travelling in overturned. He was pronounced dead at the scene. There were three other occupants(all in their late teens, two females and one male) in the vehicle, they were uninjured but treated at scene for shock.
Lisgriffen road was closed to facilitate a Garda Forensic Collision Examination but has since reopened.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have been on that road between 4pm and 4.20pm today the 13th March 2014, to contact them in Mallow on 022 31450, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
