Gardaí at Portlaoise Co Laois are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the Ballyfin Road near Mountrath Co Laois at approximately 6.20am this morning (13/3/14)
A 4 x 4 vehicle collided with a pole at the above location resulting in the death of the male driver of the vehicle (only occupant) The deceased man in his mid 30’s was taken to the Midland Regional Hospital in Portlaoise where a post mortem will be carried out.
The road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
