Gardaí at Listowel are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Shrone East (R552) Listowel, Co Kerry at approximately 8.40pm last night (3/3/14).
A 4 x 4 vehicle driven by a 51 year old male (only occupant) collided with a signpost at the above location. He was removed to Kerry General Hospital in Tralee but was pronounced dead at 11pm.
This section of road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
