Gardaí in Wicklow are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Kilpipe, Aughrim on the R747 this morning Thursday 6th March, 2014.
The two vehicle collision occurred at approximately 9.40a.m. on the R747 about 3 miles outside Aughrim. (This is the main Aughrim to Carlow Road). The male car driver (20yrs) was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene, and his body has been removed to Loughlinstown Hospital. The male driver (40s) of the tractor was removed to Naas General Hospital with non life threatening injuries.
The road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
