Gardaí in Gort County Galway are investigating the circumstances of a fatal fire at Tom O Donnells Flats, Railway Road, Gort on the 6th March 2014.
The Emergency Services were alerted to the fire at 2.50am on the 6th March 2014 at Tom O Donnells Flats, Railway Rd, Gort.
Two fatalities, (1 male 38yrs and the second body, gender not yet established) were taken from the damaged building. They were pronounced dead at the scene. Their remains were removed to University Hospital Galway. A post mortem is due later on today the 6th March. No one else was injured in the incident.
The scene is being preserved for a technical examination.
