Gardaí have seized cannabis plants and arrested a male during an overnight operation in Co. Carlow.
At approximately 2.15am this morning (30/3/2014) Gardaí searched a house in the Fairways area of Carlow town. During the search cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €120,000 (pending analysis) were seized. Equipment for the cultivation of cannabis plants was also discovered. A male aged in his late 20s was arrested at the scene and is detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at Carlow Garda Station. (He can be held for up to 7-days.)
An examination of the scene is currently underway and enquiries are ongoing.
