Gardai in Kevin Street investigating the circumstances surrounding an incident on Long Lane, Dublin 8 at approximately 11.00pm last night (30/03/14) in which a car was found on fire following a suspected explosion are making a further appeal to members of the public.
In particular they are appealing for a Taxi driver who they believed picked up a fare (a male passenger who was injured and was bleeding) at approximately 11pm on the 30th March on New St./Clanbrassil St junction, Dublin 8 heading towards St Patricks Catherdal. The fare was picked up outside a take-away/public house, or any taxi drivers who may have been approached by a male as described above to contact Kevin Street Garda Station on 01 6669400, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Gardai in Kevin Street are investigating all the circumstances surrounding an incident on Long Lane, Dublin 8 at approximately 11.00pm last night (30/03/14) in which a car was found on fire following a suspected explosion.
The scene was immediately preserved and the Army EOD team attended. Long Lane is currently closed and the scene is being preserved for a full technical examination.
A number of houses along Long Lane were damaged.
