Gardaí investigating a fatal road traffic collision on Davitt Road, Dublin 12 at 10.30 pm on Friday 30th May 2014, have arrested a man in his 30s. The man was arrested yesterday evening in the Driminagh area of Dublin and is detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Sundrive Road Garda Station.
A 40 year old female pedestrian was fatally injured when she was struck by a car, which failed to remain at the scene. The woman was crossing the road at Golden Bridge Luas stop at the time she was struck.
Gardaí are still trying to locate the offending car; described as dark coloured, possible a Ford Focus and either 08 or 09 registration. The car left in the direction of Naas Road. This car would have damage to the front and to the windscreen. There have been reported sightings of the car in the Fonthill Road, Newlands Cross, Nangor Road and Firhouse areas.
