Gardai in Killala are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occured on the Ballycastle Road, Killala this morning Tuesday 10th June, 2014 at approximatley 3.30a.m.
A man is his 60's was fatally injured when he was struck by a van. He was pronounced dead and his body remains at scene. The driver of the van was uninjured.
The stretch of road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by the Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
Gardai are appealling for witnesses who may have driven on the road this morning to contact Killala Garda Station on 096 32111, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
