Gardaí at Clonakilty are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Owenahincha Cross, Rosscarbery, Clonakilty at approximately 3p.m. this afternoon Thursday 26th June 2014.
Two cars were in collision at the above location. One female passenger (8 years) was fatally injured and her body has been removed to Cork University Hospital. A second female passenger (early 30's) has been removed to Cork University Hospital with critical injuries and is receiving treatment. The driver of the car and three other passengers received minor injuries. The driver (17 years) (sole occupant) of the other car is being treated for minor injuries.
The road has been closed to facilitate a Garda Forensic Collision examination and local diversions are in place.
