Gardaí have seized cannabis herb to the value €40,000. (pending analysis) following the planned search of a premises in Newtownforbes, County Longford, on Saturday 7th June 2014 at approximately 9pm.
Two males, 31 & 29 years, were arrested. The 29 year old was detained at Longford Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 and was released from Garda custody without charge. A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The 31 year old man remains in Garda custody at Longford Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
