Two men are in custody this morning, 1st June, 2014, following a robbery at a filling station in Blessington at 10.05p.m. last night, Saturday 31st May, 2014.
Two men, one armed with a sword like object and the second with a handgun held up staff at a service station in Blessington and stole a quantity of cash. The men left the scene in a car.
A Garda car patrolling in the area stopped the car and arrested the two men (30 years and 40 years). The handgun, sword, clothing and cash were recovered in the car.
The two men were arrested and are currently detained at Bray Garda Station, under section 30 of Offences Against the State Act, 1939.
The scene at the filling station is preserved for technical examination and the car has been seized for examination.
