Gardaí at Drogheda are investigating an incident which occurred at Newtownstalaban, Drogheda at approximately 11.30pm last night (20/7/14).
An 18 year old man had arranged to meet an individual at Newtownstalaban with a view to selling his car however when the 18 year man went to the location he was met by two masked men (one armed with a firearm)
This man was taken at gunpoint to a disused farmhouse and held there for a number of hours. He was then taken to his own house where a number of family members were assaulted (no serious injuries) the house was searched and some property was taken.
The masked men left the house in the owners car which was later found burnt out a short time later.
