Fatal road traffic collision at Castleblaney, Monaghan on the 9/7/14

Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the N2 at Broomfield, Castleblaney, Co. Monaghan today 9th July 2014 at 1.30pm.

The collision involved an SUV and a motorcyle.
 

The driver of the motorcycle a man in his 40's was fatally injured.  He was pronounced dead at scene and his body was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes hospital Drogheda.
 

The road at the scene is closed to facilitate Forensic Collision Investigators, diversions in place.
