On Monday, the 16th January 2014 at 4 a.m. Gardai received a 999 call concerning the discovery of a body of a male (63 years) at Cambridge Court, Irishtown, Dublin.
On arrival at the scene, Gardai discovered the body of a male in the bedroom of his ground floor flat. A Doctor pronounced the man dead at the scene. The area was immediately scealed off and a technical examination commenced. A full post mortem was carried out today Wednesday 8th January, 2014 by the State Pathologist Professor Cassidy. The post mortem revealed that the man died from internal injuries and we are now dealing with a murder investigation and an incident room has been established at Irishtown Garda Station.
Gardai can confirm that the name of the deceased is Thomas Horan, 63 years, who lived at Cambridge Court.
This afternoon Gardai arrested a male aged 27 years and a female aged 37 years. They are currently detained under Section 4, Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Donnybrook and Irishtown Garda Stations.
Gardai are appealling to any person who may have been in the Cambridge Court/Road area, Irishtown between 10 p.m. on Sunday 5th January, 2014 and 4 a.m. on Monday 6th January, 2014 to contact them at Irishtown Garda Station on 01 - 6669600, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.

Gardai in Irishtown are investigating the suspicious death of a male (63 years) at Cambridge Court, Ringsend on the 6th January, 2014.
The body of the male was discovered at approximately 4am on Monday, the 6th January. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to the mortuary at Marino, Dublin 3. The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and remains preserved.
The office of the State Pathologist was notified and the post mortem is currently ongoing.
