Seizure of cannabis and arrest at Portarlington, Co Laois on the 15/1/14

Gardaí at Portarlington seized cannabis herb with an estimated street value of 100,000.euro, (pending analysis).

Along with other items made and adapted for the growth and cultivation of cannabis, following a planned search of a premises in Portarlington, Co Laois, this evening, Wednesday 15th January 2014.


One male, 31 years, was arrested at scene and is currently detained at Portlaoise Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
