Man arrested and firearm recovered on N7 close to Kill, Kildare on the 30/1/14

A man in his late 20s is in custody and a firearm has been recovered following a planned operation yesterday evening 30th January 2014.

Gardaí from the Organised Crime Unit, supported by local Gardaí, stopped a car on the Naas Road close to Kill, Co. Kildare.  During the course of a search of the car gardaí discovered a handgun and a quantity of ammunition.


The 29 year old driver of the car was arrested and is detained at Clondalkin Garda Station under Section 30 of The Offences against the State Act, 1939.
