Gardaí at Thurles are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occured on Slievenamon Road, Thurles this morning just before 12 noon Monday 20th January 2014.
A female pedestrian in her mid 50's was fatally injured when she was struck by a articulated truck. Her body was removed to Mid Western Regional Hospital, Limerick where a post mortem will take place.
The road is currently closed for a garda forensic collision investigation. Local diversions are in place.
