Gardai in Portlaoise are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the Borris Road on the outskirts of Portlaoise tonight at approximately 7.30pm.
A male in his 30’s was fatally injured when the van he was driving collided with a wall. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A second male who was a passenger in the van was brought to The Midlands Regional Hospital in Portlaoise with injuries described as not serious.
This stretch of road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
