Gardaí at Rathcoole are investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occured on City West Road at Brownsbarn Roundabout, Saggart at approximately 5.20p.m. this evening Monday 27th January 2014.
The male pedal cyclist (late 30s) was knocked to the ground and removed to Tallaght Hospital where he later died. The road remains closed while a forensic collision examination is taking place.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses to the collision or who may have been in the area of City West Road between 5.20p.m. and 5.30p.m. this evening or who may have any information to contact them in Clondalkin Garda Station on 01 - 6667600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
