Fatal road traffic collision at Balbriggan, Co. Dublin on the 17/1/14

Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occured on the main Dublin Road into Balbriggan (southern side) this afternoon at 12.30p.m. on Friday 17th January, 2014.

A female pedestrian in her 30's was fatally injured when struck by a vehicle.  A child who was with her was injured and was taken to Temple Street Hospital.  The driver of the vehicle was removed to Beaumont Hospital with non life threatening injuries.


The road is currently closed pending a garda forensic collision investigation. Local diversions are in place.
