A 41-year-old male has been arrested by Gardaí investigating a fire at an apartment in Mallow, Co. Cork, on the 26th February 2014.
At approximately 9 p.m. yesterday evening Gardaí and Fire Services were called to the scene of a fire at an apartment in Granary Court, Mallow. The fire was quickly brought under control. Residents were evacuated for a short time and there was no one injured. The scene was preserved and technical examination was carried out.
During a follow up operation a male a 41-year-old male was arrested in the Mallow area this afternoon (27/2/2014) and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at Mallow Garda Station.
The male is expected to appear before a sitting of Fermoy District Court tomorrow morning (28/2/2014) charged in connection with the investigation.
