Gardai from the Traffic Unit at Blanchardstown were on routine patrol on the Navan Road, Dublin 7 on the 23rd February 2014 when they stopped a 4 x 4 vehicle.
The uniformed Gardai searched the vehicle and found almost 9 kilos of cannabis resin with an approximate street value of €50,000(subject to analysis).
A male 34 years was arrested and is currently being detained at Finglas Garda station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice(Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 as amended.
During a follow up search of a house at Pimlico, Dublin 8 a quantity of Cannabis herb with a street value of approx €500.00(subject to analysis) was discovered.
