Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occured at Longfield, Firies, Farranfore, Co. Kerry shortly after 6.45pm this evening Thursday, the 6th February 2014.
A female pedestrian (mid 60s) was fatally injured when she was struck by a car. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body has been removed to Kerry General Hospital where a post mortum will be preformed. The driver of the car was uninjured.
The road will remain closed overnight at the scene of the collision, pending an examination of the area by Garda forensic collision investigators.
