As part of ongoing operations to counter the activities of dissident republican groups, an operation took place on the afternoon of Sunday, 2nd February, 2014, by the Special Detective Unit, in conjunction with other Garda national units attached to the Crime and Security Branch.
Three men, aged 47, 44, 42 were arrested at the North Circular Road, Dublin and are currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 at the Bridewell (2) and Mountjoy (1) Garda Stations.
As part of the operation four domestic dwellings were searched in the north Dublin area and a commercial premises searched in County Meath. A large sum of counterfeit money was recovered during the operation along with a range of printing equipment and computers.
The operation is ongoing at this time.
