Garda management have liaised closely with the organisers and we will facilitate this peaceful protest in every way possible. Those attending the protest are requested to use Merrion Square East as their approach route. A number of roads will be closed to traffic including Kildare Street and Molesworth Street. Local access to these streets will be maintained in order to facilitate businesses residents in the areas.

  • To facilitate the workings of Dail Eireann and Government Buildings.
  • To minimise the impact on the business community and the impact on the road and rail network.
  • To provide an effective proportionate and professional police response to the event, facilitating peaceful protests, including targeting of criminal and antisocial behaviour.
  • Traffic disruptions
  • Some local traffic disruptions can be expected as groups of protesters make their way to Merrion Square. Gardaí would urge drivers in the vicinity of protestors to exercise care and we would also urge protesters to be careful.
