Gardai in Claremorris are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N17 at Clare, Claremorris this morning at approximately 7.30am.
A male in his 70’s was fatally injured when he was struck by a car. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car was uninjured.
The road is currently closed pending the completion of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
